Surface Casing Abandonment Plug
Surface Casing Abandonment Plug
Renown’s Surface Casing Abandonment Plug is an innovative capping system to be used for well abandonment cut and caps requiring no flow back into the wellbore. Typically ran in low areas where fresh water can flow back into the sand or soil. The plug provides monitoring of flow coming to the surface, but provides isolation below the plug. A vent pipe can be added to the bottom of the plug to eliminate any oil residue within the wellbore from venting up hole. Designed to follow AER Directive 20 Abandonment requirements, the plug is a simple system that is mechanically set and can be ran prior to the final casing cut below ground level. An identification cap should be installed above the cut casing to stop large debris from falling into the wellbore. Available in many common casing sizes, even as large as 30″, custom sizes are available upon request.
